Hmmmmmm......

Thoughts on last night?

I'm not ready to give up. If we think back to those very first episodes, that were horrid.

Things i didn't like last night:

1. Naomi's dad cheating- felt just like Donna's mother, the holier than thou Felice Martin, being caught at the Bel Air Hotel (in the fabulous Color Me Badd episode)

2. Naomi looks way too old- and seriously were are supposed to believe that is her mother

3. Jackie Taylor- times have been rough for her- sad that she has fallen off the wagon again

4. Why would Annie feel the need to run out of the bowling alley to help Naomi- silly and unrealistic

Things I'm still digging:

1. Silver- I really like her character and interaction with Kelly

2. Kelly, of course- now I did have moment last night where I felt like it was a stretch for her character to be involved in this show (outside of her interactions with Silver). But for us I'm sure, we say keep the Kelly stuff coming- and allegedly she was supposed to do 6 episodes, but maybe now she'll be doing 11.

I only watched a little of "Privileged" so I'll get back you on that.

I agree about Naomi - she does look way old. All in all, I think they are still throwing a whole lot in at once. Now Dixon has a thing for Silver? What happened to druggie girl? I do like the angst of the whole Jackie Taylor drunk and mean again (and she looked fabulous in my opinion!). Yes, keep the Kelly stuff coming - she's my favorite part. I like her cute flirtation with the teacher. (Gosh, I'm horrible at remembering characters' names.)

I thought Jackie aged well and it was awesome when she told them she was sick of them both. Now - let's speculate on paternity of Kelly's kid. She mentioned it was someone in high school with whom she has a history. If it had been Brandon Brenda would have said (or been called Aunt). Steve is married so let's give him the benefit of the doubt. They want us to believe it is Dylan (I loved when Jackie said - "is HE back?" totally playing the pronoun game). I think they will cop out for sweeps and bring back someone we never knew (or Colin or something). Was watching old 90210 yesterday and it was the black neighbor episoide - whatever happened to that family? They were only on for that 1 episoide.

I believe that it was definitely implied to be Brandon. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Kelly told Brenda that Brandon had called. I also felt like the way that Brenda said she had last seen Sammy gave me the aunt vibe. (Although Jennie Garth said in an interview that she thought whichever guy they could get to agree to come back to the show first would end up being the father)

i'm still in. i have to say that after the first episode where apparently EVERYTHING happened, the 2nd episode seemed a bit light. And i think i gagged just a couple of times during "family night" at the bowling alley. i'm thinking that dylan is the daddy, i mean what else could he be doing right now? and didn't he have some dream where he was in an old western and kelly was his soul mate? all in good time we'll find out, all in good time. but here's one thing i just have to point out. the car that girl got as a guilt gift from daddy is totally a mom-mobile. sure it's like a 65k mom-mobile, but it's definately not a car for a young high school socialite. where's the convertible? i always envied the BMW convertible of Kelly's high school days. Oh and then remember when they all got the cell phones, Zack Morris style? yeah, those 2-ton dumbell-like cell phones were ahead of their time! memories, like the corners of my mind.

I wonder when they are going to start the "of the week" episodes like the old 9-0? Where is the star basketballer who needs tutoring help? Or that the musical runs out of money and they need a bake sale? That's probably why this week felt weak. They can't just focus on the soap opera aspects of the main character's lives. Naomi isn't just old, she's a terrible actress. I think that Silver is the best so far.
